Historical notes

Rita's 'Travelers Insurance Center - Hempstead — 1984' is an exact active-project match for the Travelers Financial Center. The Canadian Centre for Architecture dates the executed project to 1983–86 and holds one of the richest surviving project files in the entire database: 155 drawings, 87 reprographic copies, 33 rolls, 22 sets and 4.7 linear metres of textual records. Crucially, the catalog now exposes contractor-level material rather than just design documents: Turner Construction correspondence from August 1983 through July 1985, specifications, change estimates, invoices, subcontracts, meeting minutes, transmittals and construction photographs. This means the project has a direct period route to the exact masonry subcontract and Kelly name, not merely an architectural inference. The Canadian Centre for Architecture documents the Travelers Financial Center as an executed Peter Eisenman project whose records were produced from 1983 through 1986, while Schottenstein Realty's portfolio preserves a labeled project photograph.
