The Daily News headquarters turned newspaper work into architecture: Raymond Hood's Art Deco tower included a huge lobby globe and weather instruments that made the building feel like a public newsroom. Rita's 1977 wording may refer to this Manhattan landmark or to another News facility, possibly connected to the later Brooklyn warehouse entry. The company story is strong; the project address remains open.
