“St. Mary's Hospital — 1977”
Rita's 1977 St. Mary's entry falls neatly between the 1975 special permit for a new 241-bed hospital and the building's 1979 completion, making the surviving 170 Buffalo Avenue structure a very strong match. Brooklyn's last Roman Catholic hospital closed there in 2005, but the building returned to health care as a nursing facility—and even served as a temporary COVID-19 hospital in 2020.
