What happened next

Beth Israel acquired the institution in 1987, renamed it Beth Israel North, and eventually closed/replaced the facility. The East End Avenue hospital building was demolished for residential redevelopment. Doctors Hospital closed in 2004, was demolished in 2005 and was replaced by a 19-story condominium completed in 2008.
