The exact project or site has not yet been identified.

Why it matters

University Hospital opened on First Avenue in 1963 as an 18-story experiment in putting acute care, outpatient medicine and research side by side; it became Tisch Hospital in 1989. The selected photograph is especially apt because it captures the complex while it still bore the 'NYU Medical Center' name Rita wrote. Joseph's 1971 phase remains unresolved.
