“Our Lady of Victory School — 1986”
The exact project or site has not yet been identified.
Another row where location must come before architecture. Our Lady of Victory Academy was the all-girls school next door to Mercy College, and Mercy's earliest Dobbs Ferry classes used its building while the new college campus ran behind schedule. The academy later became Victory Hall, preserving the educational link between the two institutions.
This is now a location/transcription problem rather than a generic search problem. Our Lady of Victory Academy was the all-girls school next door to Mercy College, and Mercy's earliest Dobbs Ferry classes used its building while the new college campus ran behind schedule. The academy later became Victory Hall, preserving the educational link between the two institutions.
Rita's 'Our Lady of Victory School — 1986' remains unresolved, but Dobbs Ferry's Our Lady of Victory Academy at 565 Broadway is now the leading institutional candidate. Westchester County Historical Society catalogs an exact academy photograph, and contemporary reporting distinguishes the former academy at 565 Broadway from Mercy's adjacent 555 Broadway campus. The two other obvious New York candidates remain poor fits: Mount Vernon's main school/convent building dates to 1961–62, and Brooklyn's Our Lady of Victory school had closed by 1973. The row stays Open until Sisters of Mercy/Mercy University or municipal permit records identify the actual 1986 project.
Leading candidate: Our Lady of Victory Academy — 565 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry leading institutional candidate; exact 1986 project unresolved. Address correction: the former Our Lady of Victory Academy was at 565 Broadway, adjacent to Mercy's 555 Broadway campus. Exact 1986 Kelly scope remains unresolved.
