The exact project or site has not yet been identified.
Manhattan Savings began in 1851 and later occupied the exuberant 1889–91 tower at Broadway and Bleecker, now converted to residential lofts. The institution merged into Manhattan Savings Bank in 1942 and eventually passed through Republic to HSBC. That long banking lineage gives Rita's 1976 entry a vivid setting, but the particular branch or alteration still needs to be identified.
