“Horn & Hardart - West Babylon — 1969”
The exact project or site has not yet been identified.
Horn & Hardart made lunch feel futuristic: a few nickels opened little glass doors to pie, macaroni and cheese or Salisbury steak, while unseen staff kept the compartments filled. The chain served millions of New Yorkers and Philadelphians for more than a century. Rita's West Babylon entry suggests the company carried that machine-age food system into Long Island, but the exact 1969 facility is still unknown.
